Thursfields solicitors sponsors party that raises £950 at sensory garden launch

More than 80 people helped to raise £950 by paying to enjoy live music, a barbecue and local drinks at the opening of a sensory garden in Kidderminster, helped by Thursfields Solicitors.

Thursfields was sponsor of the garden party on Tuesday 17 September to mark the launch of the Simply Limitless Sensory Garden

During the past four months, volunteers – including staff from Thursfields and Lloyds Bank – have helped transform a patch of rubble and brambles into a special garden facility at Simply Limitless Wellbeing Centre in Puxton Lane.

This will now be used by people of all ages in the local community with dementia or mental health issues.

Shane Miller, a Director and Head of the Family Law department at Thursfields, said: “Simply Limitless is a fantastic wellbeing charity that does some crucial work in the local community.

We were delighted when our staff volunteered to help create the sensory garden and were pleased to sponsor the event to mark the garden’s opening.

We’re proud of having so many staff here at Thursfields who are prepared to get involved with charity work and to make a difference for people who need help in the areas where we work.”

Guests at the garden party enjoyed live music and food while they sampled and bought drinks from local suppliers Astley Vineyard, Bewdley Brewery and Hussingtree Gin.

Paul Raper, Chief Executive at the Simply Limitless Wellbeing Centre, said: “We’re really grateful to everyone from Thursfields and Lloyds who got stuck into some hard work creating our lovely sensory garden, and to all the businesses that helped us to celebrate the opening.

The fact that people were so generous by attending the party to help us to raise £950 was just brilliant.”
