Thursfields recruits top Wills & Estates team in Worcestershire

Thursfields Solicitors has attracted a top team of three new staff to join its expanding Wills & Estates department in Worcestershire.

Sharon Oakley has joined as a senior associate in the Kidderminster office. Sharon arrives from Waldrons Solicitors in Kingswinford, where she has been head of the Private Client department since 2016. She previously spent ten years as director of the Wills, Trusts and Probate department at Talbots Law in Stourbridge.

Sharon has been joined in Kidderminster by legal assistant Jodie Harper, who worked with her at both Waldrons and Talbots.

Meanwhile, Laura Smith has been appointed as associate solicitor at Thursfields’ Worcester office, joining from Knights Professional Services in Cheltenham, where she worked from 2015-17, developing a new Private Clients department. She previously worked for mfg Solicitors in Worcester from 2006-15.

Michelle Hetheridge, head of the Wills & Estates department, said: “We are rapidly expanding across the Midlands and so it was pleasing to have attracted such high-calibre staff from other local firms. Sharon brings a wealth of experience having headed departments in her last two jobs, and we were delighted that Jodie decided to join her. We were also thrilled to have recruited Laura, who made a real mark at Knights and mfg.”

Sharon, who lived in Stourbridge for 30 years until recently moving to the other side of Cleobury Mortimer, said: ““I know the local area very well and aim to develop the Kidderminster department further building on Thursfields’ excellent reputation.”

Jodie, from Cradley Heath, said she had worked closely with Sharon for the last five years and was delighted to be joining her at Thursfields.

Laura, from Worcester, who arrives at Thursfields following maternity leave for her first child, said: “I’ve really been impressed by the positive spirit of everyone who works here. They are ambitious and pleasant at the same time, which gives the place a real buzz.”
