Thursfields raise over £400 for children’s charities in their first Christmas Charity Day

The Christmas Charity Day, organised by Thursfields Junior Lawyer Committee, proved a success across the firm, with all the staff pulling together to raise over £400 and more than a sleigh full of toys.

The theme of this year’s charity day was children, and Thursfields have supported 3 great children’s charities this year.

New Hope Worcester supports families who have children with disabilities, providing daytime care and organising trips and activities, and were grateful to hear about Thursfields efforts in aid of their charity. A cross-office bake off was held, with a lucky couple of volunteers standing in for Paul Hollywood and Sandy Thompson, tasting all the delicious baked goods and crowning a winner. Money raised from volunteering with the Halesowen Rotary Club was also added to the bake-off donations, with several volunteers collecting donations as the Rotary Club’s Santa Sleigh made its way round Halesowen.

It wouldn’t be Christmas without a Christmas Jumper Day, and staff at Thursfields did not disappoint when asked to don their finest festive wear, with all proceeds going to Save the Children helping children in the UK and abroad.

Christmas Charity Day also saw the culmination of a 2 week long toy drive in a bid to bring some festive cheer to children who are spending the holidays at Birmingham Children’s Hospital. Again our generous staff supplied more presents than we could fit into one car, which we hope will be enjoyed by many this Christmas.

Given the success of this year’s Charity Day we’re already looking to next year, with plans to introduce some competition between the offices in an attempt to really ramp up our Christmas charity efforts, nothing gets Lawyers in the Christmas Spirit like a bit of friendly competition!

Merry Christmas from all at Thursfields!
