Thursfields lawyer joins Institute of Fundraising committee | Charity Law

Katherine Ellis, a Senior Associate Solicitor in the Charities and Communities sector at Thursfields Solicitors’ Kidderminster office, has joined the West Midlands committee of the Institute of Fundraising.

The Institute of Fundraising aims to provide support, inspiration and professional development opportunities to fundraisers across the UK, with the West Midlands committee supporting those fundraisers working within the region.

Katherine said: “I am delighted to be joining this committee where I can use my passion and enthusiasm for the sector to help fundraisers within the region receive support and guidance when needed.

“The third sector plays a vital role in the West Midlands as the local charities and not-for-profit organisations fulfil a variety of needs and provide access to a range of services which would otherwise not be available.

“Thursfields is committed to working alongside the third sector to assist those organisations to grow, develop and fulfil their charitable aims which have such a huge benefit to local communities.”

Ellen Jurczak, Co-chair of the Institute of Fundraising West Midlands, said: “We’re pleased to welcome Katherine onto our committee and feel lucky to have someone with such in-depth experience of the third sector, which we are sure will be of benefit to our members.”

Katherine, who before her role at Thursfields worked in-house advising on legacy issues for a large national charity, added: “I am proud to have secured a place on the committee and to now be working even more closely with the Institute of Fundraising in the West Midlands.”
