Thursfields Helps Year 9 Students in Careers Challenge Day

Tim Brewster, a trainee solicitor at Thursfields, recently took part in a careers challenge day at Kings Norton Girls School & Sixth Form. Timothy is currently training with Lauren Hartigan-Pritchard, who is an associate solicitor for Thursfields and responsible for the firm’s education sector offering.

Kings Norton Girls School & Sixth Form invited professionals from many fields including commerce, manufacturing, the military, and information technology organisations to speak to their year 9, key stage 3 students in small groups and encourage them to ask questions about working in their professions.

The event was planned to take place before the year 9 students make their final choices for GCSE elective subjects and offered them a chance to speak to people from different walks of life and understand their career paths.

Nicola Raggett, Deputy Head Teacher at Kings Norton Girls School & Sixth Form, said: “The information shared has been invaluable and we are grateful for Thursfields generosity in giving their time to support the activities held for our girls. The sessions throughout the day proved to be very successful and have enriched the learning experiences of our students.”

Tim said: “I was really impressed by how aware the students were of all the career options available to them and the determination they all demonstrated, even at a young age, to pursue careers in law or other areas. The range of ideas was very inspiring and it gave me great satisfaction to talk to, and answer questions from, students determining their futures.”

Thursfields work in partnership with many educational providers and charities and are able to offer legal support and advice across the education sector with a full range of services.
