Thursfields helps bring a million pints of beer to Oktoberfest UK

It was a big ‘Prost!’ to Thursfields after the Midlands law firm helped bring around a million pints of an exclusive beer brand to Oktoberfest UK.

Thursfields Solicitors advised Freemans Event Partners – who ran the Bavarian beer, music and food event for 50 nights – on their commercial contracts with beer supplier ROK Stars.

ROK Stars, co-founded by American billionaire John Paul DeJoria and UK entrepreneur Jonathan Kendrick, delivered its ABK Bavarian Beer to Freemans Event Partners’ bars in 24 towns and cities across the UK.

The Thursfields team included Jane Rudge, a senior associate in the commercial team, and client relationship director and corporate lawyer Gareth Burge.

Mr Burge said: “With around 250,000 people expected at Oktoberfest 2017 events, it was essential that Freemans Event Partners secured the right deal with the right suppliers, and we were delighted to assist. This is another example of Thursfields growing experience in the events sector, and we are looking forward to supporting Freemans Event Partners going forward.”

John Freeman, director of Freemans Event Partners, added: “We estimate that around one million pints will be consumed by about a quarter of a million people visiting our Oktoberfest events across the UK, and so getting the right beer deal was crucial. Thursfields advice on the contractual framework was invaluable.

We’re delighted to have had ABK as the exclusive beer for Oktoberfest UK 2017 as, with its incredible history and heritage, you simply can’t get more authentic than ABK beer.”
