Thursfields advises Richard Bridge on 100% ownership of Top Banana

Thursfields has helped entrepreneur Richard Bridge become the 100% owner of events and communications agency Top Banana.

Mr Bridge was the co-founder of Stourbridge-based Top Banana in 1999, and co-owned the company with business partner Nick Terry until September this year.

A team from Thursfields has now helped Mr Bridge to buy the 50% of Top Banana that he did not already own for an undisclosed sum.

Mr Bridge said: “The advice from Thursfields was excellent and helped this deal to complete without any hitches. I am now excited about the future, the opportunities and growth we can expect at Top Banana, with new client growth in London and expansion of the team.”

Thursfields Solicitors advised on the corporate, employment and property aspects of the deal.

Thursfield’s team included corporate director Gareth Burge, commercial property director Robert Pettigrew, employment associate Lisa Kemp and trainee solicitors Charlotte Perry and Joe Rollins.

Mr Burge said: “We were delighted to assist Richard on this transaction. Top Banana is well placed to continue its expansion both here in the Midlands and nationally, and we look forward to seeing some great results.”

Top Banana has grown in the last 18 years to become one of the Midlands’ premier events and communications agencies, with an expanding office in London.

The company, which has annual turnover of around £7m and employs around 50 staff, works across a spread of sectors including financial services, food and beverage, automotive and FMCG.

Its main business comes from delivering creative events and communications to businesses and their internal and partner stakeholder audiences.

Worcestershire accountancy firm Ballard Dale Syree Watson advised on the tax and accountancy aspects of the deal.
