Thursfields advises growing Oxfordshire wealth management firm on acquisition | Corporate law

The corporate team at Thursfields Solicitors’ Black Country Hub in Halesowen has advised an Oxfordshire financial planning business on the next stage of its growth.

Aspen Financial Advice Ltd has purchased Sarah Illingworth Ltd, a Milton Keynes-based financial adviser – both are wealth management advisers within the St James’ Place Group.

Aspen Financial Advice was established in Thame in 2013 by David and Tracy Hunt and specialises in providing high quality personal advice as well as corporate financial planning, guidance on pensions, tax planning and exit strategy planning for business owners.

Philip Chapman, Corporate Director at Thursfields Solicitors, said: “The acquisition is part of the growth strategy of Aspen Financial and marks the next stage of the development of the practice.”

David Hunt, Managing Director of Aspen Financial Advice, said: “We’re pleased to have completed the acquisition of Sarah Illingworth Ltd which, like us, is a well-established, advice-led practice. We have grown the business to this point by providing quality advice and cultivating strong relationships with clients and those who refer clients to us.”

Philip Chapman added: “We are delighted to have advised Aspen Financial Advice on this acquisition. By acquiring a practice working under the umbrella of the St James Place group, Aspen Financial Advice further benefits from the resources they need to provide excellent advice to more clients and to grow.”
