Jenny is Thursfields’ Head of Charities and Communities, having previously worked at Anthony Collins Solicitors in Birmingham and for the Law Society in Redditch.
She is recognised in the Legal 500 2020 edition as one of three leading individuals acting for charities and not for profit clients in the area. Feedback received from clients and professional contacts included:- “professional, friendly and always willing to help,” “always thorough, professional and accurate in the work they carry out” and “very experienced in charity and trusts; punching above its weight for a small firm compared to other charity teams in the sector.”
Jenny specialises in charity law and has acted for various types of charity over the last 17 years including churches of various denominations (at local and national level) and independent churches, hospices, alms house charities, pre-schools and nurseries, community charities, schools, grant making charities and charitable property trusts. She has also acted for other “not for profit” organisations including Community Interest Companies (“CICs”) and trading companies established by charities to support their work.
Jenny’s approach is to tailor legal advice to match the client’s needs reflecting the fact that some charities have the benefit of trustees with relevant professional experience and/or paid staff and others are run entirely by volunteers.
Jenny is a member of the Charity Law Association and the Ecclesiastical Law Association.
