Public votes Thursfields’ boss into final of top regional award

A public vote has selected our head of the Family Law department as a finalist in a top regional business award.

Shane Miller, a director and shareholder of Thursfields, was nominated in the Wonderful Worcestershire Awards’ Director of the Year category earlier this year.

And now, following an online vote open to the public, she is one of five senior business leaders through to a final judging committee which meets to decide the winner this month, ahead of the April awards event.

Shane, who has lived in Worcestershire for seven years, joined Thursfields in 2012 and has built a Family Law department now recognised as one of the best in the region, with a significant increase in the number of fee earners.

Nick O’Hara, managing director at Thursfields, said: “We’re thrilled at news that Shane’s nomination was backed by so many people in the public vote.

She is extremely driven and would thoroughly deserve the personal recognition of Director of the Year in the Wonderful Worcestershire Awards.”

Sarah Mayo-Evans, co-founder of the Wonderful Worcestershire Awards, said: “The calibre of the nominees this year is once again outstanding.”

The awards, which have ten categories, are aimed at recognising individuals for their contribution to the county by running successful businesses, working tirelessly for others or being an inspiration through significant personal or business achievement.

They will be handed out during a posh afternoon tea on Friday 27 April at Worcestershire County Cricket Ground.

Meanwhile, Thursfields’ Family Law department was recently nominated at the National Family Law Awards, and Thursfields as a firm was a Winner of Excellence in Professional Services at the Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber Awards 2017.
