Laura joined Thursfields in 2018, having moved from a large national firm, based within their Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire offices. Laura qualified in 2011 with another well respected Worcestershire firm.
Laura is a passionate lawyer who prides herself on finding effective and practical solutions to complex issues, offering clear, no-nonsense advice using simple and understandable language.
Laura understands that it can often be difficult for clients to attend the office and as a consequence, is always happy to meet clients in the comfort of their own home or place of business.
Laura routinely advises clients on the preparation of wills and trusts, with a particular interest in clients who are wishing to protect and preserve their generated wealth and assets for future generations and mitigate any inheritance tax liability that may seem likely.
Laura also specialises in the preparation of powers of attorney, Court of Protection applications and the administration of estates.
Laura has a large amount of experience assisting in the administration of estates where there are business and agricultural assets, ensuring that the appropriate reliefs are applied for and where applicable, negoitating with the Revenue should any challenge be faced. Laura has assisted in a high profile inheritance tax case, where the tax payer was successful in claiming agricultural property relief.
Outside of work, Laura relishes the opportunity to travel and explore and experience new cultures and destinations.
When not having the time to travel furtherafield, Laura enjoys exploring Worcestershire’s countryside and Devon’s beaches with her family, whilst frequenting an occasional public house to savour any local food or liquor on offer!
