Bernadette trained with a Manchester firm, being admitted as a solicitor in 1990 and joined Thursfields in 1996, where she has made the role of personal injury specialist her own, becoming well known and respected in the area for her expertise.
Bernadette is recommended in The Legal 500 2019 Edition where she is described as “very experienced and capable in personal Injury work” and as taking “a sensible and pragmatic approach to cases”.
Bernadette is an experienced personal injury lawyer, advising in relation to all types of claims including those arising from road traffic accidents, tripping/slipping accidents, accidents at work, Criminal Injuries (CICA), product liability and clinical negligence. She has substantial experience of traumatic brain injury and amputation claims and has achieved a number of very substantial settlements, recovering millions of pounds in compensation for her clients. She provides guidance upon appropriate methods of funding claims including conditional fee (“no win no fee”) agreements which Thursfields offer in appropriate cases.
Bernadette is accredited as a litigator by the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers, having previously been a member of the Law Society Personal Injury Panel (1997-2008) and the Headway Solicitors’ Panel.
She is married with 3 teenage sons and is a keen cyclist and hockey player.
She is a director of the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Multi Academy and a governor at two schools within the Multi Academy.
