Following the government’s announcement on 10th May stating their intention to start a relaxation of the current lockdown restrictions the Property market has been able to return back to previous functionality.
The changes meant that all activities relating to the purchase, sale or letting of residential properties are now permissible under the lockdown such as attending viewings and moving home.
The changes in the lockdown provision do however still require that social distancing requirements be adhered to. This can make it difficult in some respects for parties who have managed to agree the sale or purchase of a Property and are now wishing to instruct solicitors in that transaction, as part of solicitors initial requirements involve parties attending solicitors offices in order to deal with ID verification.
In order to counter this issue at Thursfields we have reviewed our ID verification processes and adapted them to ensure that clients do not face any stumbling blocks when instructing us in their transaction.
The adaptation of the processes now incorporate an option to clients to have their ID’s verified remotely by a third party facility, namely Thirdfort.

It works as an app that can be easily installed to a client’s phone.
