At Thursfields, we value the benefits a diverse workforce can bring; we focus on Inclusion and Team.

We have a clear Equality & Diversity Strategy and an Equal Allies Committee where ideas are shared and progressed. Colleagues from across our business get involved in making E & D a daily reality, not just a strategy paper. Change starts with each of us and we believe that small steps add up to big change. Whether it’s celebrating Black History Month, Diwali or championing women returners, at Thursfields we are an organisation open to learn and committed to broadening understanding of the power of difference. Thursfields is a Stonewall Diversity Champion, seeking to support lesbian, gay, bi and trans staff and customers.

Work Placements

Our Work Placement scheme is organised by our Junior Lawyer Committee – colleagues with the most recent experience of trying to break into the legal profession. Our Work placement is a fast paced week long experience that gives a true feel of life in a regional law firm. We are keen to use our Placement Scheme to reach out to those who don’t necessarily have family connections or contacts into a law firm and in line with our Equality & Diversity strategy, this year we particularly welcome applicants from BAME backgrounds.

Training Contracts

Each year we recruit a cohort of trainee solicitor who are seeking quality legal training in a regional law firm. We recognise they also bring fresh eyes to our business and we are keen to hear their ideas and perspective.

What our new joiners have to say

Submitting an application for a position to work at Thursfields was one of the best things that I ever did. I joined a few months ago and everyone has been so welcoming. It’s a mix of a traditional law firm with a modern twist that is dynamic in its approach. The firm is extremely inclusive and welcomes people from all backgrounds. We recently celebrated Diwali by distributing Indian sweets and that is a first for any firm that I have worked at. I love working at Thursfields and I am proud to be a part of the team. Come join us and be a part of our success story!

As a new starter I have been impressed by the quality of training provided by Thursfields. During my first week I was given comprehensive training on all internal systems and processes. Ongoing training is impressive too. It is clear that this firm is committed to staff development. I like the fact that the firm doesn’t expect me to be tied to my desk. The firm encourages business development and gives me the freedom to network and build contacts. I have found everybody to be very friendly. In my department, residential property, there is a wide breadth and depth of experience across all offices and everybody is always happy to help. This provides me with a great resource to learn from and develop further.
