Work Placements

Our Work Placement scheme is organised by our Junior Lawyer Committee – colleagues with the most recent experience of trying to break into the legal profession. Our Work placement is a fast paced week long experience that gives a true feel of life in a regional law firm. We are keen to use our Placement Scheme to reach out to those who don’t necessarily have family connections or contacts into a law firm and in line with our Equality & Diversity strategy, this year we particularly welcome applicants from BAME backgrounds. Applications open 3rd February 2020 - from this date please see Latest Opportunities above.

Training Contracts

Each year we recruit a cohort of trainee solicitor who are seeking quality legal training in a regional law firm. We recognise they also bring fresh eyes to our business and we are keen to hear their ideas and perspective.

Speculative Applications

Does Thursfields sound like the right firm for you? Are you aligned with our values and ethos? If so we want to hear from you. We are always looking for new talent to welcome to the team and to join us on our exciting growth journey. Please don’t send us your CV though – we prefer you give us a call for a confidential informal discussion. Please call 01905 730457 and ask to speak with Grace or Michelle.

For GDPR reasons, we will not store CVs and will always encourage potential applicants (particularly those seeking training contracts and work experience) just to keep an eye on our website for details of what’s on offer.

What our new joiners have to say

Submitting an application for a position to work at Thursfields was one of the best things that I ever did. I joined a few months ago and everyone has been so welcoming. It’s a mix of a traditional law firm with a modern twist that is dynamic in its approach. The firm is extremely inclusive and welcomes people from all backgrounds. We recently celebrated Diwali by distributing Indian sweets and that is a first for any firm that I have worked at. I love working at Thursfields and I am proud to be a part of the team. Come join us and be a part of our success story!

As a new starter I have been impressed by the quality of training provided by Thursfields. During my first week I was given comprehensive training on all internal systems and processes. Ongoing training is impressive too. It is clear that this firm is committed to staff development. I like the fact that the firm doesn’t expect me to be tied to my desk. The firm encourages business development and gives me the freedom to network and build contacts. I have found everybody to be very friendly. In my department, residential property, there is a wide breadth and depth of experience across all offices and everybody is always happy to help. This provides me with a great resource to learn from and develop further.
