Black Country Road Race and Fun Run 2017

On 2 July 2017, Thursfields fielded a team in the 2017 Halesowen and Rowley Regis Rotary Club’s Black Country Road  Race.

Members of Thursfields also operated one of the water stands along the route, (just  outside Wilko) in  Halesowen Town centre.

Thursfields’ Nicola Pearce from Halesowen organised the team of runners  and the water stand, with members of our team taking part in the 10k and Fun Run on the day.

Around 1000 people took part in the race, which was divided into the 10K & 5K timed elite races and 5k Fun Run.

Local MP, James Morris, took part in the Fun Run, which was heralded by a suitably enthusiastic Bhangra Band walking in front of the runners to the Start point.

The weather was glorious but perhaps the runners would have preferred it a little cooler!

The event was a great success and Halesowen and Rowley Regis Rotary have already begun the preparations for next years Race!
