A successful 2017

As Thursfields Solicitors gets busy for another year of expansion, I wanted to highlight some of our successes from 2017.

Many involved awards for the talented people we have working for us in our eight offices across Worcestershire and the West Midlands.

People like Aimee Williams, who scooped ‘Office manager of the Year’ at Worcestershire Law Society’s Legal Awards in April.

Aimee clinched the trophy in the Best Support Staff category, and the judges said it all when they commended her “hard work, attention to detail and tenacity”.

Another top award was won by Lauren Hartigan-Pritchard, one of our senior associates, named ‘Best Young Solicitor’ in the Birmingham Young Professional of the Year Awards in May for her hard graft and driven attitude.

Then in June, Thursfields lifted the ‘Excellence in Professional Services’ trophy at the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce Business Awards, reflecting the entire team’s strong reputation as one of the best legal firms across the Midlands.

We received our fourth award at the Black Country Chamber of Commerce Awards in November, when we won the High Growth Business of the Year trophy.

This reflected how we are not only one of the region’s longest established and reputable law firms, but that we are also constantly expanding.

Thursfields’ turnover has grown by 20 per cent in each of the last four financial years, and we now have more than 140 staff working in eight offices in Worcester, Kidderminster, Halesowen, Sedgley, Stourport-on-Severn, Solihull and Birmingham.

The 2017 edition of the Legal 500 – the ‘industry bible’ – also marked our soaring progress with a record 27 lawyer recommendations, up from seven in 2016.

The guide highlighted several Thursfields’ staff as the region’s leading “next generation lawyers” and praised us for our “fantastic reputation for delivering commercial, honest, technical and relevant advice”.

The Legal 500 success was an outstanding result and reflected our growing presence in the Midlands as an expanding law practice with a commitment to providing clients with expert legal advice in our key sectors.

An example of our expansion came when we almost doubled the size of our Solihull office in the middle of 2017, moving into a 3,000 sq ft space at The Courtyard on the Warwick Road that makes us the “go to” local firm in Solihull and north Warwickshire.

We have truly become the first choice for thousands of clients to provide a full range of legal services for businesses and the private individual, including property, family, employment and commercial law as well as probate and litigation.

We now look forward to providing quality services to more individuals and businesses in 2018.
